How to be a more productive writer

If you had one wish related to writing, what would it be? I think all of us would want to produce more content in less time. Here are five simple tips to help you accomplish that.

1) Take care of your body.

The mind can't be productive if you are in bad shape. Eat nourishing foods, drink plenty of water, sleep enough, exercise, and spent time in nature.

2) Suit up!

If you change to the clothes that you have especially for writing, your mind will follow. I have a T-shirt that says, "I'm a writer. What's your superpower?" and I love it. It helps me get into the right mood for writing.

3) Let social media and emails for later.

Don't let them distract you. Close all the other tabs and open only the ones you need. Even if you think that a quick look cannot harm, resist the temptation. All that you're going to think about is messages and emails that you have to answer, and there will be no space left for creative ideas.

4) Take breaks.

There is a technique that is called "The Pomodoro Technique". Set a timer for 25 minutes and work on your text without interruption. If another task pops in mind, write it down on a paper. When the 25 minutes pass, take a short break. Eat something, go for a walk, go to the bathroom, etc. but don't do anything work-related. When you finish four pomodoros (1 hour), take a more extended break. Twenty or thirty minutes are excellent. If you are not done, do another round.

5) Think positively

Negative thoughts decrease productivity. They make you feel useless and a lousy writer. Try to think about something beautiful before you start and while you are writing.
